Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - saturday arrival
Airport pick-ups will be organised from Cusco to Pisac in the Sacred Valley.
Depending on your flight time, you will hopefully get chance to unwind, stretch out and recover from your flight. The idea is to have a good nights sleep before our bus ride to the jungle starts. Pisac is at a lower altitude than Cusco so hopefully you will decompress a little. It’s also on route for our trip. The hotel has a pool and spa facilities, the town (a motor taxi ride away) has interesting shops selling artisan, crystals, silver jewellery and a good range of interesting food, there will be no problem maintaining your diet restrictions here.
Day 2 - sunday
Pisac - Paucartambo - Acjanaco - Cloud Forest
We will have an early breakfast and travel over the Acjanaco pass (3,600m) and down into the Cloud forest to Pilcopata. We will make stops on route to stretch our legs and see an archaeological site and a local town. We will have our veggie lunch at a lagoon and take a tour of the fox trail (800m) where we will visit the viewpoint of the Kosñipata valley and the orchidarium with more than 80 species. We will then descend through the cloud forest where we will be on the look out for monkeys, the ‘Cock of the Rock’ (Peru’s national bird), the Quetzal and much more. We will take short walks through the waterfalls on the Ketzal trail. We will then have dinner and make our way to our lodge in the jungle for our first night.
DAY 3 - monday
Pilcopata - Atalya - Ayahuasca Ceremony
Breakfast will be our only meal today in preparation for our Ayahuasca ceremony over night but your attention will unlikely be on your tummy as we have a day full of colour planned. We start by walking to the mammal clay lick where we will observe a diversity of tropical birds. We will have a bus ride interspersed with nature walks until we reach the Atalaya viewpoint. From here our journey will be by boat along the Alto Madre de Dios River. Mid afternoon we will arrive at our next lodge, a quite place ideal for our ayahuasca ceremony. Once we are settled in we will meet for a Coca leaf reading ceremony followed by an energy cleansing ceremony. There will then be a short time to relax and meditate before our Shaman opens the ceremony with prayers. Our journey with Mama Ayahuasca will last between 4 and 6 hours, after we will share a fruit platter and you will then return to your room to rest.
DAY 4 - tuESDAY
Atalya
After breakfast the Shaman will be available to share our experiences and help interpret our visions, then he will lead a closing ceremony to thank Pachamama and we will all enjoy a flower petal bath.
DAY 5 - wedneSDAY
Atalya - “No Contact” Tribe - Manu
Today we will do some trails by Machuwasi lake and ride across on a raft. We will then meet the boat to travel further down stream where we will have lunch. We then continue by boat to visit the Nomole surveillance post of the Culture Ministry where they monitor the activities of a tribe known as “no contact”. We then continue to Manu where we will have dinner and walk around the town. This is a good place to pick up any supplies we are missing.

Prepare for your trip
This healing journey starts the moment you commit. Whether you choose to take sacred medicine or not, the Andeans believe the ancestral spirits and the Apu’s (mountain spirits) get to work to support your intension as soon as you make it. Just one of many ways the teaching in this land align with our hermetic premises.
By choosing this trip you also choose to serve your health choice, average levels of fitness will be challenged. The trip is designed to aid your acclimatisation to the altitude and there are transport options available if you want to reduce the leg work but you should not underestimate the effect of altitude, it can’t be ignored when you are hiking steep inclines to see and experience the miraculous work of the Inkas.
As advisable for a ski trip, it’s also advisable to increase your stamina and strength before you arrive. Increase your walking distance, do some hill walking, swim or dance to improve your fitness and lower your heart rate.
Dehydration is also more rapid at altitude and first occurs on the aeroplane. Water will be available but you must take personal responsibility to keep yourself hydrated and get enough sleep (especially after a long flight). Fly in with enough time to adjust.
To aid your body produce more red blood cells and become more oxgyen efficient you either need to increase the iron content in your diet or take a good quality supplement. I recommend Solgar Gentle Iron, 25mg. Poor quality iron supplements are poorly absorbed and cause constipation. Iron is normally a free-radical to men or post menopausal women but in this case it’s needed for the first 3-4 days (no more), start taking it the day you fly. Menstruating women often don’t menstruate (lucky right?!) when coming to Andean altitudes because their body will use the iron and not let it go.
If you intend to experience San Pedro or any other sacred medicines in Peru you dietary preparation, see SACRED MEDICINE PAGE. Dietary restrictions will be catered for on the trip.

Trip Itinerary
Day 7 - SUNDAY
We are going to be up and out early this morning, we have a 5am pick up for the Rainbow Mountains, we stop for breakfast on route and upon arrival we have an hour and a half walk. Horses are available to hire (at cost) if walking at increased altitude is a problem (it’s high!) but you should be somewhat acclimatised by now. Next we visit the temple of Wirracocha, get a local lunch and continue to Puno (approximately 4 hours drive).
DAY 8 - MONDAY
After yesterdays exertion we will relax and be healed by the beautiful still, pure blue water of Lake Titicaca, you can’t imagine the wonderful energy of this lake which hosts the sacral chakra of the planet. So we will be at the centre of creation, totally chilled out on a boat with seating inside and out. We will visit one of the floating islands of Uros, ride on their banana boat, listen about how they live and hopefully, if you feel called, support them by buying some of their craft/art work. We then have a short boat ride to get lunch before we visit Taquille island where we will have a walk around. The boat will bring us back to Puno around sunset.
DAY 9 - TUESDAY
Today we will visit a sacred rock where Inka myth says human life was first created, we will stand in the door way to/from divine realms, we’ll be testing out our intuitive and shapeshifting skills here to the max. It is said that to re-birth into your full creative potential you must release your limitation by returning to the source, this is thought to be the source of all human life. But before we re-birth we will visit the Fertility Temple - where we will observe 20 sculptures dedicated to the phallus (a large collection of stone penises). For sure, your sacral chakra is going to be fully energised after this trip and your choices will be forced to explode!
DAY 10 - WEDNESDAY
We leave for Colca Canyon this morning. We will cross the mountains stopping at a high lookout point above the Lagunillas Lagoon, we may spot some rare andean birds (e.g Ajoya - giant Andean Coot) and Andean geese. At the Pampa Cañahuas we will hopefully see herds of Vicuñas before stopping at another high pass called the volcanoes lookout. We then descend into the Colca Valley to have lunch and enjoy a Spa Hotel that is on the river and has it’s own private natural hot springs.
DAY 11 - THURSDAY
Today we go to the 4,000 ft canyon to watch condors from one of the best view points. On the way back we will stop at some picturesque villages that have snow peak glacier back drops. We will also see Incan and pre-Incan terracing systems that cover part of the valley. We will have lunch before our bus takes us to Arequipa city.
DAY 12 - FRIDAY
The last day will be at your leisure, enjoy the hotel, enjoy the beautiful white volcanic city of Arequipa, get up when you want and eat when you want, we will stay centrally in the historic quarter so you can grab a cab cheaply to show you round, hop on a bus tour or do nothing, it’s up to you. We will meet for a farewell dinner in the evening.
LEAVING WEEKEND
SATURDAY - Fly back to Lima.
If your flight is at night and you would like to see Lima, enjoy a city tour, incredible sea food, maybe see a museum before you fly home and keep bags/cases stowed, click here to book.
SUNDAY - Arrive home
