Trip Itinerary

ARRIVAL WEEKEND

Airport pick-ups will be organised all weekend, you have the option of settling into the town and hotel from Saturday. There will be intuition training on Sunday for any partners who want to take part but have yet to learn the skill or would like to get some practise in before we start.
We will all meet for dinner on Sunday evening followed by our official opening of the retreat around the fire. We will make an offering to Pachamama and enjoy some drumming.

Day 1- MONDAY

We are starting with the top attraction and the lowest altitude. We will leave early by train for Aguas Calientes and take the bus up to Machu Picchu. We will be absorbing the wisdom and healing energy of this magnificent site with mystically and historically informed guides. There will be a choice to descend on foot down the final part of the Inka trail, or hop back on the bus. We will have lunch together in Aguas Calientes and return by train to Ollantaytambo. There will be time to rest before circle sharing at the hotel. You can enjoy dinner where ever you choose in town, I’ll give recommendations.

DAY 2 - TUESDAY

Today we will visit Maras to see the glistening Salt flats that are run as a cooperative by 300+ families. Next we will visit Moray and learn what the Inka’s knew about the power of circles. We will enjoy a luxury buffet lunch on the way back and spend the afternoon doing our own powerful circle work. Dinner is at your own leisure in town.

DAY 3 - WEDNESDAY

Today we are staying local and exploring the Inka Fortress in Ollantaytambo. We will be guided around the many features which include the Sun Temple, Condor Temple and Inka baths. We will have a locally made lunch and continue our power up work in the afternoon on sight. We have early evening entertainment by one of the towns dance groups who will be dancing especially for us.

DAY 4 - THURSDAY

Today we will do a 3 Temple vision quest with the option of receiving San Pedro (the sacred medicine of the Andes) in ceremony. We will start in a sacred cave where our shaman will prepare an offering to Pachamama. We will then travel to our hike starting point and walk to a stunning waterfall that will also receive our offering, for those who can handle a tougher hike we will ascend to an Inka dwelling on top of the mountain, there will then be a further option for the hard core of hiking back to Ollantaytambo or descending and returning by bus. The scenery is breath taking and we are likely to have the place to ourselves, I’ve never seen other people up there despite the foreign investment that has gone into restoring the ruins. Whether you take San Pedro or not this experience enhances your connection with the incredible nature that will gently hold your journey. Any questions that you bring to nature are met with answers that will bring you into wholeness and connection. The ceremony will close back in Ollantaytambo with a termizcal (natural sauna). Dinner is included if you take part in the termizcal, barbeque on site.

DAY 5 - FRIDAY

We travel through the local Andean mountain range today for a deep relax in the hot springs at Lares where we will eat locally prepared trout for lunch (packed lunch alternative available). We will make a stop on route to Cusco in Pisac where you can either do some shopping or visit the ruins. We will have dinner in Cusco and stay overnight.

DAY 6 - SATURDAY

The huge site of Sacsayhuaman is our playground today, this is where we see the true genius of Inca construction on a huge scale. We will have a farewell to Cusco lunch, do a bit of Alpaca clothe shopping before a powerful closure of our retreat at the Moon Temple. If you want to keep your trip to just 1 week and be home on Sunday, you can take an afternoon flight to Lima and fly home this night.
OR you can fly to Lima in the morning and spend the day there before flying in the evening (landing on Monday). I can arrange for you to be picked up from the airport for a Lima Tour, ceviche lunch, cases stored, return to airport for your flight (optional extra).

OR CONTINUE YOUR TRIP FOR 6 MORE DAYS, enjoy the afternoon seeing Cusco before we head south and visit: Rainbow Mountains, Lake Titicaca, Aramu Muru, Colca Canyon & Spa and Arequipa centre, before flying back to Lima and home.

Trip Itinerary

Day 7 - SUNDAY

We are going to be up and out early this morning, we have a 5am pick up for the Rainbow Mountains, we stop for breakfast on route and upon arrival we have an hour and a half walk. Horses are available to hire (at cost) if walking at increased altitude is a problem (it’s high!) but you should be somewhat acclimatised by now. Next we visit the temple of Wirracocha, get a local lunch and continue to Puno (approximately 4 hours drive).

DAY 8 - MONDAY

After yesterdays exertion we will relax and be healed by the beautiful still, pure blue water of Lake Titicaca, you can’t imagine the wonderful energy of this lake which hosts the sacral chakra of the planet. So we will be at the centre of creation, totally chilled out on a boat with seating inside and out. We will visit one of the floating islands of Uros, ride on their banana boat, listen about how they live and hopefully, if you feel called, support them by buying some of their craft/art work. We then have a short boat ride to get lunch before we visit Taquille island where we will have a walk around. The boat will bring us back to Puno around sunset.

DAY 9 - TUESDAY

Today we will visit a sacred rock where Inka myth says human life was first created, we will stand in the door way to/from divine realms, we’ll be testing out our intuitive and shapeshifting skills here to the max. It is said that to re-birth into your full creative potential you must release your limitation by returning to the source, this is thought to be the source of all human life. But before we re-birth we will visit the Fertility Temple - where we will observe 20 sculptures dedicated to the phallus (a large collection of stone penises). For sure, your sacral chakra is going to be fully energised after this trip and your choices will be forced to explode!

DAY 10 - WEDNESDAY

We leave for Colca Canyon this morning. We will cross the mountains stopping at a high lookout point above the Lagunillas Lagoon, we may spot some rare andean birds (e.g Ajoya - giant Andean Coot) and Andean geese. At the Pampa Cañahuas we will hopefully see herds of Vicuñas before stopping at another high pass called the volcanoes lookout. We then descend into the Colca Valley to have lunch and enjoy a Spa Hotel that is on the river and has it’s own private natural hot springs.

DAY 11 - THURSDAY

Today we go to the 4,000 ft canyon to watch condors from one of the best view points. On the way back we will stop at some picturesque villages that have snow peak glacier back drops. We will also see Incan and pre-Incan terracing systems that cover part of the valley. We will have lunch before our bus takes us to Arequipa city.

DAY 12 - FRIDAY

The last day will be at your leisure, enjoy the hotel, enjoy the beautiful white volcanic city of Arequipa, get up when you want and eat when you want, we will stay centrally in the historic quarter so you can grab a cab cheaply to show you round, hop on a bus tour or do nothing, it’s up to you. We will meet for a farewell dinner in the evening.

LEAVING WEEKEND

SATURDAY - Fly back to Lima.
If your flight is at night and you would like to see Lima, enjoy a city tour, incredible sea food, maybe see a museum before you fly home and keep bags/cases stowed, click here to book.

SUNDAY - Arrive home

Prepare for your trip

This healing journey starts the moment you commit. Whether you choose to take sacred medicine or not, the Andeans believe the ancestral spirits and the Apu’s (mountain spirits) get to work to support your intension as soon as you make it. Just one of many ways the teaching in this land align with our hermetic premises.

By choosing this trip you also choose to serve your health choice, average levels of fitness will be challenged. The trip is designed to aid your acclimatisation to the altitude and there are transport options available if you want to reduce the leg work but you should not underestimate the effect of altitude, it can’t be ignored when you are hiking steep inclines to see and experience the miraculous work of the Inkas.

As advisable for a ski trip, it’s also advisable to increase your stamina and strength before you arrive. Increase your walking distance, do some hill walking, swim or dance to improve your fitness and lower your heart rate.

Dehydration is also more rapid at altitude and first occurs on the aeroplane. Water will be available but you must take personal responsibility to keep yourself hydrated and get enough sleep (especially after a long flight). Fly in with enough time to adjust.

To aid your body produce more red blood cells and become more oxgyen efficient you either need to increase the iron content in your diet or take a good quality supplement. I recommend Solgar Gentle Iron, 25mg. Poor quality iron supplements are poorly absorbed and cause constipation. Iron is normally a free-radical to men or post menopausal women but in this case it’s needed for the first 3-4 days (no more), start taking it the day you fly. Menstruating women often don’t menstruate (lucky right?!) when coming to Andean altitudes because their body will use the iron and not let it go.

If you intend to experience San Pedro or any other sacred medicines in Peru you dietary preparation, see SACRED MEDICINE PAGE. Dietary restrictions will be catered for on the trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. Full payment is required 40 days in advance and is also non-refundable if cancelled.

  • take health choice seriously - come with good walking capacity

  • make sure your footwEAR is heavenly - break in any walking shoes before you arrive, my personal preference is light but good quality trainers/runnies and a pair of thongs/flip flops for spa days

  • MEDICINES: The trip is designed to help you adjust to the altitude but it does get higher and higher as we progress through the 2 weeks and we will be covering considerable distance. If allopathic medicine makes you feel safer bring both Altitude sickness and travel sickness tablets.
