RAIN FOREST ITINERARY

DAY 1 - SATURDAY ARRIVAL

Airport pick-ups will be organised from Cusco to our hotel.
Depending on your flight time, you will hopefully get chance to unwind, stretch out and recover from your flight. The idea is to have a good nights sleep before our bus ride to the jungle starts. It’s quite easy to get a massage near by and we will be close to the main square.
We will open the retreat at 3pm with introductions, a despacho & intention setting.

We will have some group time to ponder our questions for Mama Ayahuasca and set intentions for our ceremony.

Afterwards we will welcome our Ayahuascero and he will give us an introduction to the ceremony process and open the ceremony with prayers as the sun sets. Our journey with Mama Ayahuasca will last about 6 hours, after we will share a fruit platter and you will either sleep in the temple or return to your room to rest (depending on the medicines effect on you).

DAY 4 - TUESDAY

Ceremony Processing & Sharing
After breakfast our Maestro will be available for us to share our experiences and help interpret our visions, then he will lead a closing ceremony to thank Pachamama and we will all enjoy a flower petal bath. This will be a day of deep reflection, journaling (and drawing if you are inclined). We will share our experiences and be present with our insights and healing.
After lunch will make our way to our next lodge and if we have time we may call in on our Maestro’s tribe - the Machiguengas.  Our Maestro is the leader and Curandero of this community.

DAY 5 - WEDNESDAY

Jungle Condor Spotting & Machuwasi Lagoon
This morning we will leave early for a nature reserve with an abundance of creatures for us to observe. Upon entry we will be greeted by many varieties of humming birds, sucking on the nectar sauce provided, we will quickly pass by as we decend down to the viewing point to catch the white jungle condors taking breakfast. Hopefully we will watch these magnificent birds pirching themselves on the edge of the river. On the way back there is a jungle swing for us to take turns on and we can spend a bit more time photographing the humming birds.
Next we will visit a beautiful lagoon that we will cross on wooden rafts, climb a watch tower and get up close to the very interesting Hoatzin birds. Various other tropical birds make their nests around this lagoon so there’s no shortage of birds and creatures to observe as we take in the circular jungle trail. Often the air is perfumed with tropical fruit trees and flowers.
Finally on the way back to our lodge we will visit a little sanctuary where very tame monkies, parrots, tucans, tortoise and various other animals are cared for. You will be able to enjoy getting up close to these fabulous creatures that are healing and rehabilitating.

DAY 6 - THURSDAY

River rafting in the Amazon Basin
Today we will ride the river in an inflatable dingy with our guide, we’ll be taught how to row and navigate the boat and be continually instructed. The view from the river offers another dimension to this trip as we view our surroundings in motion. Depending on the pace of the river we hope to find an area to enjoy a swim in this energised water. We will also hopefully enjoy a floating meditation on the last stretch before we dock at the river boat station that completes our ride.
The rest of the day will be free and you’ll need to pack and take rest early for
tomorrows 4am start.

DAY 7 - FRIDAY

Tres Cruses Sunrise - Cusco
We leave at 4am this morning and will be in position by 6am to witness and admire this incredible sunrise. This is one of the two viewpoints in the world where you can experience this natural spectacle that occurs in a very particular way. It will be possible to contemplate the tonalities of the sky and its great array of colours as a reflection of you. You entered this journey through the clouds and you end it through the light, at one with the light, clean and whole.
We will return to Cusco where you can begin your journey home or continue your trip through the sacred valley.
