Peruvian cuisine has been celebrated as number one in the world more than once — and when you taste it in the Andes, you’ll understand why. From vibrant street eats to gourmet restaurants, the standard of cooking here, and the quality of ingredients, is second to none. Natural. Fresh. Seasonal. Bursting with colour, aromas and flavor.
Here, regional dishes carry stories: on the coast, ceviche bursts with lime, fish, and heat; in Cusco, the favourite is Chiriuchu, a celebratory medley of local meats, corn, herbs and spices; and wherever you go, you’ll find classics like lomo saltado — tender stir-fried beef strips with tomato and onion — or the irresistible crunch and savory richness of chicharrón, fried crispy pork.

Living Inka Village of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley is our base.
This town is a best kept secret, tour companies bus tourists here to get the train to Machu Picchu and generally miss it’s magic.
The town is watched over by Tunupa, the god of abundance, who’s face is calved into the mountain Pinkuylluna.

Various folklore dance groups parade the plaza in amazing costumes carrying effigies between the 3 temples in the town.

I’m originally from the UK, but my heart belongs to Ollantaytambo, the ancient Inka village in the Sacred Valley of Peru. When I first arrived in 2012, the mountains took my breath away, and I felt completely immersed in nature. The rich Inka and pre-Inka history fascinated me, and the local people welcomed me with open arms.
They shared their traditions, customs, and hidden treasures of the area, and I was honored to share my business expertise, working on various projects before creating my own Wellness Centre and Vegan Restaurant.
